I Don't Even Know A Title For This One

Well, one strange ass thing happened to me this evening. Which I don't think anyone could have guessed. But this night, I heard a song, that sounded pretty damn emo to me. Yet I still liked it. Very weird for anyone who knows me. Heres the song, basically I just wanted to share my weird experiance with you fine people.

<lj-embed id="7" />

Bored As Fuck

Its been two weeks since my last blog, not much has gone on that i feel the need to rant about in that time. This morning i am bored (as stated in the title) as fuck. So, since, there has been nothing rant worthy lately, i'll try and give you a laugh with some videos that made me laugh this week.

John Pinette
<lj-embed id="4" />

Chris Rock on Police Brutality
<lj-embed id="5" />

Homer Smokes Weed
<lj-embed id="6" />

For Christ Sake.. Part 2

Ok, so last night when i started writing that i was tired as hell, half-way through (which is what you all read) i got light-headed and needed to sleep. So im back to finish the job.

Alright, so i believe that i was half-way through bashing our government about obsessing over the captin of team Canada. Basically the thing about this that i find so bull-shit, is last week, the Tories "plan" to help reduce our carbon emissions was reveiled. And they fucked up big time on that. I always relate back to the fact when a 15 year old knows that the government is bull-shit. But honestly, not 30 seconds into explaining it i knew it was bull-shit, complete bull-shit. And then to go and spend Parliment time on deciding wheather or not Shane Doan should be captin!? What the fuck. Honestly what in the fuck are they thinking? It just boggles my mind. Im so sick of all this bull-shit.

I love hockey,love international hockey, but sports and government are never supposed to cross paths, when it comes down to this issue i honestly care more about global warming more than if Shane Doan called four french refs "fucking french frogs" 17 MONTHS AGO! Bull-shit.

That was the second part of my little rant from this morning.

For Christ Sake....

Are you fucking joking me? Honestly, this is a fucking joke beyond all jokes ever told.

So, basically that little opening tirade was about, im not completely sure, but i've got the feeling some might know by now where this is going. Government. So just as i think i couldn't get more disgraced with the government, they suprise me once again with the fact that they can avoid all things of significance to try and decide wheather or not Shane Doan should be captin of team Canada.

I repeat: Are you fucking joking me?!

This is so, unbelievably stupid. Seriously, basically for those who might not know, about 17, yes 17 months ago there was a hockey game between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Montreal Canadiens. What was thought to be a bad call by the refs in favour of Montreal, by four french referees, was answered (apparently, no one knows for sure) by a racial slur along the lines of "Fucking french frogs", supposedly uttered by Shane Doan. And no one has shut the fuck up about it for the whole 17 months. Im not gonna go into why i think Doan should be captin, cuz its all been said before. But honestly doesn't parliment have better things to worry about than this bull-shit? Maybe try improving that bull-shit-barely-qualifying-as-a-plan global warming idea. I just wanted to say that all of this is bull, the Doan situation, and the global warming plan.

Scarred

Last night I was channel surfin a bit before I went to sleep, i came across MTV, and the show Scarred was on. I decided (although i don't know why) to watch a bit of it. It was absolutely the biggest piece of flaming shit on tv i have ever seen. Let me give you a little summary of the show, its all stories with photos and video of people severly injuring themselve while attempting sports related tricks.

Who in the right mind would actually watch this show?! I didn't really know about it, but i will definetly never watch it again. I can deal with some gore and stuff, but when you watch people break their arms and the bone pops through their skin, or breaking their ankles, or their leg. Its just too gruesome. It is some fucked up shit.

This show is stupid enough, throw in a Stombolopolous wannabe, and its flat out retard tv. This guy is so stupid, well, maybe its not him, I don't like him, but just the way he acts is so, contrived. It just gives off the vibe that theres a forty something man behind everything said by the host. It just sounds weird. Not to mention the fact they write in the script for him to swear, what is the point of swearing when you know for a written in stone fact that it's gonna be bleeped out!? Do you think honestly that i would swear as much as i do in this blog if there was somebody just gonna black it out here? No because its useless. Completely 100% useless. Not that it honestly serves any purpose besides just the basic fact that when i'm writing these, i try and write them in the same way i would say them. But the difference between me and this Scarred host, IM NOT GOING TO GET CENSORED! So i can say, relatively, whatever the fuck i want to.

It is just another one of those shows that basically represents the idea that when you fubar yourself, its a good thing and you can get on tv! YAY kiddies, go have fun with a skateboard and go ahead, break a few bones while you're out there!

Honestly, every show on MTV now is just trying to be like jackass. I liked jackass though, the thing is, they weren't COMPLETELY focused on what bones they broke. It was just a bunch of friends being jackasses. I think at some point or another, we can all relate to being really dumb with our friends, right? This show is just something to glorify really hurting yourself. It's dumb, it serves no purpose, it should be banned, because we all know theres some 12 year old kids watching it, and sooner or later one of them is gonna go out there and INTENTIONALLY hurt himself so he can try and get on this disgrace. Atleast jackass made me laugh, and for the most part, didn't make me puke.

More quarells with the government.....

More bull-shit from the government. This week as I'm sure most everyone has heard about, a ten year old boy died after the school bus he was on side swiped a 18 wheeler and crashed into the median. Head-trauma. Now you think this would cause some sort of stirr in the government about the possibility of putting seatbelts in school buses, kinda has, but from the talk of Dalton Mcginty (premierious dumb-fuckious) doesn't sound too convincing to me.

And the irony! The Ontario government sends out the OPP on the highways to make sure everyone is wearing their seatbelts, especially children in car seats and whatnot, but ya kno school buses with FOURTY KIDS on it is a whole different story right!? You always like to think that it would take much less then a death for our government to make a decision that will benifit people. And still after a death, a death of a fucking child no less, they still make no promises about it! Guarantee you this is all about money. They don't wanna pay to put seatbelts in. Wonder why i think our government is so fucked?! Well heres a pretty good goddamn reason. They don't want to spend money to protect children. Fuckin idiots.

I'll probably be back later to rant more about these fuckin morons we call government officials.

Editing, its a bitch eh?!

As some might've anticipated, though not many, this is sort of my post-production blog about the video me and a few friends for an english project/presentation. Which later on you will have the chance to view, right here.

Now the idea for this video started exactly a week ago today, we had little going for our presentations, and like all plans concieved at the english table this was unorganized and extremely off the top of our heads..mainly mine. The weekend past, with no work or thoughts going into the video.

Monday, Monday was sort of a hectic day, for the first half, we were looking for someone with a WORKING camccorder. And you just know that went well right. So the second half of the day was spent around 2 hours at Russels house, about.. a half hour of filming actually done in that span. The very unlucky thing about this was, well we weren't done shooting, and the presentation was supposed to be on tuesday. But getting out of that is a different story.

Filming was out of the question for Tuesday, two main people weren't gonna be there. So in short, no work got done on Tuesday.

Wednesday, this day was a bit of a challenge because all our filming was to be outside and the weather was turning, so the little bit of filming we did was quite quick. Once again most of our time there was spent thinking of what we're doing for the next scenes. The filming was only a portion of that day.

So we were done our filming, or atleast what we could do, the next challenge was editing. When I got home, I took a few hours off to relax. So about now it's 8pm, and something clicks and sends off that ever so clear message "OH SHIT!" and I realize that I need to edit and produce this video. About one hour later, I finish editing the actual film, turns out the running time for it is a grand total of a minute and fourty seconds, so I made some pictures that are supposed to serve as credits. Added a reel of outtakes, and brought the time up to two minutes and fourty seconds. After all that.. the time I've spent editing is up to a total of two hours.Think I was done? Think again.

After two hours of editing, I had to figure out how to transport this edited and completed movie from Windows Movie Maker to a disc somehow. This took me an hour of fiddling with Windows Media Player to see if that could work.. it didn't. So I was almost up a certain type of creek without my paddle. But I remembered I have a little program called Nero, and low and behold it worked, Nero saved my ass. It was on the disc and ready to go. Three and a half hours of editing and producing, and I was dirt tired, and basically all work I could do, was done and the rest was out of my hands. I was just sayin to myself "I better get a good fuckin mark for this".

The Presentation:
Thursday, presentation day, last class, the video seemed well recieved by both kids and teacher, laughs came out of it, but the good laughs. Our Creative endevor seemed to pay off from the reaction of people viewing it, we've yet to see our marks hopefully very soon, as soon as I know, you'll know.

Post-Production:
Last night was our little celebration for somewhat of a job well done. We went back to Russels house to play Wii, eat chicken, drink a few 2L bottles of pop, eat a bag of chips. Watch the leafs game, play music and raid Russels room for the two hundred pounds of sugar he has stashed in there. And now, its a four day weekend with my birthday smack in the middle. So there you have it, you have heard all there is to hear about the video, you know now how it started, how it ended, and everything in between... the last thing to do know is actually watch it. So here it is, enjoy it and have a happy Easter weekend, and happy good friday!

Thanks for reading

Welcome back for another installment of my blog. Well, the search that no one knew about is over, and what exactly the search was for, was the hunt for a band name. We found one, and what it is...is INDINCINEL! Need a deconstruction? I would assume you would:

Brycin = Lead Singer
Aidan = Lead Guitar/ Drums on occasion/ Back-up Singer
Russel = Bass Player
Amin = Rhythm Guitar/ Back-Up Singer/ Drums on occasion

The name Indincinel, comes from something like this:
(Am)In(Ai)Din(Bry)Cin(Russ)El

Well thats a fun lesson ain't it.
Thats all for tonight folks conidering its all i feel like writing.
Night and thanks for reading.

Zeppelin I , 2112 and a Whole Lot of other Communication Breakdowns from The Temple of Syrinx

The other day i bought two masterpieces, historic discs that catapulted careers and are recognized as influential and amazing pieces of work. They're just great, for the first time hearing both these albums im absolutely blown away.

Have you ever noticed how stupid most everything is these days? How impractical a lot of things are? To start of on my tyraid of bull-shit wants these days, tv on cell phones, who came up with this, because i'd love to smack that fucking idiot. Who has the time to watch tv on the run?! I barely have time to make a call for Christ sake!

Seriously, we have medical problems, government problems and some dumb shit decides, instead of trying to solve world problems, "I'm gonna figure out a way to get what im watching right here in my living room onto this 2 inch screen so i can run on the subway while watching ESPN!". What the fuck. "Yeah,well instead of thinking of fixing our fucked up government, im gonna go and think about a way to scratch my ass while changing the station". It just pisses me off when all these genious' sit around tryin to come up with the next ipod or some technological device that allows you to talk to someone halfway across the world. What a waste of IQ.Honestly.

Now im not saying that i don't fall prey to all this bull-shit, but atleast i think about these things instead of yerning for that friday night to go out and get wasted. Theres so much wrong with this world, beyond our little everyday problems, like our government. Even though we're considered a top country, there are still people on the street, and the way the government works is the more money you have the more important you are to the country. Hence the poor mean nothing to the government, proven since they do relatively nothing for homeless people. Its disgraceful that you can't walk a block downtown without seeing 2 or 3 homeless people and are you telling me that no government people notice this? Just more bull-shit from the government (Christ...im turning into a hippie) anyone who reads my blog, i think, should have gathered that i have a considerable dislike for our government. Rightfully so since it is, ofcourse, a seriously unfunny joke.

There is so much more intelligent people could be doing for the world, look at Bill Gates (opposite of what most would think,im not about to bash him like the government) hes one of the smartest people out there,not to mention richest. Now he uses his millions for charities and whatnot, which is all good and well but i think that if he is so smart he could help solve some problems with the world today besides coming up with new shit for microsoft. At some point theres gonna be that one smart person who changes it, from creating ipods and windows and other shit that we could probably live without, they'll actually try and cure diseases and solve government issues and do things that improve the world and not just computer speeds and music storage. Apparently my friend believes this person is Pete Wentz.

Thats all for this night friends, Enjoy your thursday,friday and your weekend.
Thanks again for reading.

Oh how fun it is watching the party leaders stumble around trying to find the perfect balance between all the pressign issues that surround Canada. Yesterday as I was watching the news,i saw that Liberal Leader Stephen Dion was pushing tougher laws,and Conservetive Stephen Harper tackling enviromental issues.

As most have probably noticed,this seems like a role reversal,completely. Now this is all good and well. But frankly (Even though im not a voter yet) it doesn't fool me at all, it is just another attempt to make it seem like they're wellrounded candidates for PM. Considering that they feel the fire of another budget that will most likely be rejected and once again spiral downward into the dark depths of *shudder* federal election.

And we can't forget about mister Jack Layton,takin the Al Gore approach to global warming, except on a much lower scale...30 second tv commercials! The funny thing is that, it seems like Jack is one of the unpopular kids trying to push his way into the popular crowd (Dion,Harper). Then theres the Green Party(who no one seems to know who is their leader),they're just out there and they don't care to make a push to get into the crowd of super idiots eh? Isn't politics fun kids?

Get set everyone, dive into the shit hole once again, those dreaded words FEDERAL ELECTION!

Note: This was written about two weeks ago, I didn't post it because i didn't think it was finished, but what do ya know! It was! But today is your lucky day its a 2-for-one day! Hope you brought your "coupins", some laugh, the others need an explanation.

Pop Stars,Cash and Covers

Well,a week from last time,I'm back,in two senses,im back to write some more,and im back to talking about music,just music in general this time.Today im going to be talking about *shutters* pop stars,the cash and bullshit behind them,and covers of songs.

Since the most interesting topic,and the one i can probably rant about the most,is pop stars and all the shit that goes with them.For the ones that are honest and do write their own songs and ACTUALLY sing them,kodos even though i probably don't like it either way.It just really pisses me off to see people lip syncing and hear about them not even writing what the're lip syncing.Sorta feels like they're defrauding people,and frankley degrading a sort of music thats pretty low already.It just shows that any dumb shit fit enough to dance can make it in the pop industry.And what the fuck is with the dances they do?! Did i miss the fucking boat or something?! Since when is flailing limbs and rolling on the ground considered dancing?The last thing i said about any dumb shit who is fit enough to dance,i didn't just mean physically,they need to be retarded as well.

Even home grown Avril Lavinge has fallen to the status of pop star it seems.Where did that little punk that the country loved go?I saw her new music video the other day and now its more of a poppy punk.Which is the shittiest kind!Atleast we know she actually sings the songs.

Back to the retarded thing,look at Britney Spears,wow shes gone completely fucking nuts hasn't she?Ok go back a little while,she marries a dead beat father in the making and expects it to go where exactly?I mean honestly,they have two kids,and i really hope that they didn't just make a whole new breed of super retards,and she divorces him.Then to cap off the rampage of idiocy shaves her head.Goes into rehab,and says shes gonna make a comeback..again.And we're supposed to believe shes both SANE AND MILDLY INTELLIGENT?!!?My god.

Not to mention all the meaningless shit songs about basically this "look at me..he he..im hot..he he.." followed by two minutes of a beat thats been used ten million times before.Oh and we can't forget within those two minutes,all the retarded "choreographed" dancing.All round i think you can gather that i have some issues with pop music.Besides the basic fact rock..well..rocks,this is why i love rock,most often there are more meaningful songs.Unique sounds,inovation,and above all no fucking lip syncing.

On to covers,i don't know why i decided to say i was going to talk about covers,but whatever.I like covers,it allows bands to put their own unique sound to that same ol song that we all love and hope to god that the band covering it doesn't take it to the butchers.This topic and my opinion of it are pretty damn predictable to those who know that im in a cover band basically.

Not much else to say,thanks for reading,have a nice weekend and a great march break.

Everything Moves Real Slow When Its Fourty Below

Well as you could of easily guessed,the weather will be involved in this blog.But,who wants to read a blog entirely about the weather,we have to deal with it everyday so its not much fun reading all about it over again.This my friends is one of my "thrown together all about anything and everything i feel like talking about" blogs.Since i have no real topic i smash all my thoughts together into one blog,and start on a topic and see where it leads us.Enjoy,and try not to get lost.

Well the "storm of the year" has come and gone, but left a shitload of problems for everyone.Fallen trees,ice falling from the CN Tower,power outages.We all deserve it completely,we bitch and complain in December that theres no snow,wheres the snow?!Come January and Febuary we get the snow and people start bitching again about how theres too much snow.We sound like americans for Christ sake,we're Canadians dammit,we're used to cold winters,and here people are being little sissy bastards about a little bit of snow and wind and ice.Our ancestors must be ashamed. Too much snow..pfft suck it up you fools.I think we live to close to America,there winter sissyness is rubbing off on us Torontonians.Not this one though.

On Thursday night/Friday morning i watched The Departed,excellent movie.Not a lot i can say without spoiling it for you.Awesome actors,awesome story and a great soundtrack.I recommend you all check this one out.Make some time for it though,it runs two hours and thirty minutes,and it is worth every second.Sheesh i should be getting paid for this type of advertising for The Departed own the best movie of 2006 on dvd today!I have absolutly no clue where i was going with that joke,ah well.

Well sirs and ma'ams this is where it leads,this is my twist of an ending...or is it false advertising?You be the judge,for those who expected more out of this i am truly sorry,and if you did indeed get lost,you are officially the dumbest person ever.Thanks for reading this....this..uhh you fill in the blank.Have yourself a nice weekend people.

Politics..aka Bullshit

Lately i've noticed these commercials funded and approved by the conservitive party bashing the liberal party and more specificly leader Stephen Dion.It pisses me off so much that the leaders of our country when it comes to trying to win,what seems like quarter-annual election,all they have to say is how much the other guy sucks at his job.God forbid they should try and win the votes of the citizens by actually outlining and showing us what they would do if elected.

These people act like little children in debates,instead of telling us what they would do about certain things,they opt to remind us how big of a fuck-up the last guy was.It all seems like they build their campaign around proving the other guys are bigger dipshits than they are,then when they succeed at that minor challenge,which infact every year seems more easy to prove,they get sworn in and do fuck-all for a few months until they feel the fire under their ass that is another election.

For probably the first time in my life,i admit that the Americans have somewhat of the right idea with an election every four years.You look at them if they fuck-up,its like a prison sentance,four years automatically.Us,oh man,its just like our judicial system,you get a few months tops.Its quite pathetic.

You know you have problems with your government when a fourteen year old is dreading the day when he becomes a legal voter.

Rock Revisited: Black History Month

This isn't all about rock this time,but i thought since it is Black History Month,i should take the time to think about it all.Think about all the music the world wouldn't have,we would not have blues,nor rock,no reggae,no hip-hop,no soul,no funk,no dance,almost everything musical in our culture today would be gone if it were not for people such as B.B. King,Chuck Berry,Ray Charles and many many more.But it is about more than just music.Its about people,who have endured so much heartship and wrong-doing and still carry on to do great things and prove ignorant people wrong.

Its time to stop all "colour" shit,because we are all just people,and we are all the same on the inside.
Every single one of us.
Think about it.

Part 6: working title

Rock Revisited: The New Kids

For most of the short time i've spent talking about music on here,i've been talking about stuff that came out quite a few years ago.Tonight it changes a little bit,i've decided that i will put my two cents in on the new stuff.Now,the tables turn,or i would hope the would,since a portion of my readers grew up in most of the time era i've been talking about music wise,i would like to think that being slightly younger,i have the edge in this field.Maybe not though,maybe just maybe,my infatuation with classic rock has inhibited my ability to know exactly what is going on with new rock these days.Enough with the semi pointless bantering,on with the music.

To start off,i would like to talk about a band that thus far gotten my respect.That band is Wolfmother,now i know that this has the possibility of garnering some criticism.Ofcourse and it is very easily noticed,they gathered inspiriation from Zeppelin and other classic rock era bands,and its not unfair to say that i probably like them for that fact.But,is it unfair to say that they have the right idea?Maybe if more bands would take more direct inspiriation from past greatness there would be alot better music.Wolfmother even though the inspiriation is quite clear and noticiable,i still think that they can be and are a very original band.Obviously you cannot bring about a rock revolution by trying to re-live an era.But the way i look at it,and this is my view of what Wolfmother has done,we take what we know is good,we put our own stamp on it,our own new twists,and make it so that you can't tell that at one point that song was one you know from a different era.It might sound cheap,but really its just building blocks,you take what you know and try and turn it into something completely different.My other side of that opinion,is take something that is absolutely trash and turn it into absolute gold.

Second on the new kids list,Billy Talent,they're a few years old (or if you want to count in terms of albums,two albums old) and they still deserve to be on this list,since they are fairly new.Mostly representing the angst of teenage life,Billy Talent has pretty much secured a position in that demographic.But thats not what makes them good,relatability is great and all,but the above all need is great rock-out music.BT provides that,now there are certain things BT does would cause me to,well lose interest if it were a different band.To list one,the screamo portions of some songs,its a matter of wheather the music behind the screaming makes it seem like a minor flaw.My almost instamatic reaction to screamo is fuck that.But the fact is they aren't total screamo,hell they're not even that much screamo.In an overall rating of Billy Talent,and in the main point im trying to make with the bands im listing,is that these are some of the bands i think might be the ones that,in thirty or forty years we could be lookin back on,and thinking "wow how much they've changed".

The past two bands,have been from almost two ends of the spectrum,now a band that can cover most of that spectrum.The Killers.Now The Killers proved with the release of Sam's Town,they can change their music and their style in the span of just one album.Which for most artists in any genre takes somewhat of a burn-out to spark changes in what they do.But it was exactly the opposite for The Killers,they had a massive success with Hot Fuss,for most that would just send a signal to keep doin what you're doin.Then for them to go out and try changing it up,its a bold move,but with such a following its not suprising it was greeted with open arms.In the end i think it will pay off,because if you just do the same things for your whole career,sure you'll still have a loyal following but you might not gain as many new fans as you would by changing things up a lil.I am proof,two or three years ago i wasn't really a fan of The Killers,i gave'em another chance this year and it didn't neccisarily suprise me i liked what i heard,but it just goes to show that they made a few changes (in my mind anyhow,but anyone can argue anything.to me though the did sound a bit different)and voila,im a fan.I think wheather or not you are a fan,it'll be fun to see where they go.

I didn't start this thinking that i would just have the top three,but im a bit tired to write any more semi-long descriptions and whatnot,so i am going to end off with some honourable mentions:

Franz Ferdinand,Finger Eleven,Sam Roberts,Mobile,System of a Down,The Trews and more..

Thank you for reading and good night
Part 5 or w/e coming soon..

Rock Revisited: The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Alright well i decided that i would pick an actual defined topic,so instead of calling this part three,i thought i would give it the title it deserves,the one that best describes (or in this case,is the topic).

Lately,I've been listening to Stadium Arcadium by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.Awesome album,and its kinda funny how i go from talking about how some of their songs sound the same to they're awesome.But,and theres always a but,my statement from last time holds true even though i do enjoy the album.There are those few songs that have that faint same ole Chilli taste to them,and you can't forget one of the most over-played song of the year.Yes i am talking about Dani California,good song,but the number of times i've heard the begining of that song is enough to literally teach me how to play it,and trust me,i have spent very little time on drums.

Now that im done with the initial praise for and criticism of Stadium Arcadium,i move on to a section that i most likely will take some criticism and corrections for,and that my friends is the ever changing line-up.

Including the current set (Anthony Kiedis,Flea,Chad Smith and John Frusciante) there have been twelve members of the Peppers.To me that is amazing and kind of mind boggling,it seems Saturday Night Live-esque.The Red Hot Chilli Peppers seem to be the SNL of music,and just as in SNL there are those who have always been there (Anthony Kiedis and Flea,Steve Martin and Chevy Chase*)Its just very fascinating that one band can change band memebers so much and still be,well relatively close to what they always have been.

But the thing more amazing thing about RHCP,is that they have been around for 24 years.In those twenty years it doesn't seem like they've lost much in regards to the music.When you talk about longevity in bands,the first ones that come to mind are The Rolling Stones,Rush,those are forty year careers there.Now obviously those are not the only bands that have been around along time,but i picked the two that stood out in my mind the most.Theres no telling wheather RHCP will be around for forty years,but theres always the chance,they've made it this far right?Whose to say they won't keep it going as long or longer than The Stones,now ofcourse with time comes change,and they probably won't be bouncin around on stage like now or twenty years ago,but in all likely hood..they will be around.Thats the thing that will impress me,as with the following of The Stones and Rush through the generations,i would like to see in another twenty years what the following of RHCP will be like.The Transition of a generations,fun to watch,fun to be a part of.

Thanks for reading,and good night.
Part Four or whatever the hell i want to name it will be here soon.

Rock Revisited:Part Two

Holy jumpin Jesus that was a lot of comment to read Sam,i have a few comments of my own on your history of rock.First off im kinda suprised by the comment "ofcourse you hold classic rock in high esteem,you're a Reagin",for aslong as i can remember its been all about country music.But maybe that was the change in the family musical era between when you were my age,no matter,but i get your point that its not exactly suprising that i love classic rock considering who my parents are.Jeez its hard to remember all that ya said.I have to say,when you named all those bands,i've heard/listen to of most of them,but the thing is none of them really stuck out in my mind besides The Tragically Hip(which i left off the list since they started in the late 80's).Theres a lot more i could say,and would say,if i could remember most of what you said,and yes i considered looking back,but im feeling lazy.

House of the Rising Sun-The Animals

Now that song has absolutely nothing to do with the topic i want to talk about today,i just love it and wanted to put it on here.

Ok,onto the actual topic.Re-Hashed Material.Every month i hear new songs,and then a couple months or even a year later,i hear another "new" song,and it sounds almost identical to that song i heard a while back.I'm not just talking about other bands doing similar music as another band,im also talking about bands that just don't change,for example The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.They have some songs that if you don't listen hard enough you could mistake it for another of their songs.Don't get me wrong i do like the Chilli Peppers,they have and keep proving that they are a very inovative band.Their music videos and whatnot are very interesting.

Another band thats music just seems to blend together after a while is Coldplay,frankly not much to say on them besides that some of their music just sounds the same.

My philosophy on this kinda thing,is if you can't come up with something fresh,something good and new,give it time instead of forcing things and coming out with a new album that is essentially your last one with a new cover and new titles.Its frustrating since i actually still do buy cds.

No one knows what the future holds,but if the band im in gets as far as the stage of recording and publishing.I want to be one to make sure we're not just putting new lyrics and a new title to something that has already been done.So if you're looking for an album from this yet to be named band,you could be waitin for a while.But then again,no one knows for sure what the future holds.

But this afternoon i end with a band that has just been brought to my attention recently,i leave you to enjoy these two songs and videos.Thank you for reading, Rock Revisited:Part Three coming soon.
Coheed and Cambria: The Suffering
Rock Revisited: Part One

Now I know some might be wondering about the title,well the revisited is because(for those of you who haven't followed my blog since the begining)my first blog here was "Music of Today/Yesterday".Its been a while since then,and since i've been lacking material lately,i've decided to take a musical approach to my blog.Much like "The Ongoing History Of New Music",i will be examining the evolution of Rock,maybe throw in a tune or two every now and then.Not to mention trying to predict what rock will amount to in the future.But enough of the intro,hope you guys enjoy reading what i have to say.

I guess the most logical point to start at would have to be Classic Rock.Now,this,in my mind is the best rock,and most of my musical inspiration comes from Classic Rock.The Classic Rock era lasted a few decades (late 50's to late 70's) but that is more than most any kind of music can say for itself.I can name more iconic,and great bands from the classic rock era than i can from my era of music (80's- present).Don't get me wrong here,there are some very good bands that have come out since around when i was born: Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Soul Asylum,Nirvana to name a few.But the sad thing is that after i said Nirvana there i was stumped to come up with another band.Classic Rock i could think of many many more.

The thing i find so funny and oddly pathetic about the comparison of Classic Rock and newer rock,is that classic rock bands were stoned out of their ever loving minds and they managed to come up with better sounding music,and hell even more meaningful lyrics than new rock.Given most of them paid the price for all the drugs they did,but with some of these newer bands i pray they go on a bender and come up with something that you wouldn't mind hearing get over played.I mean you listen to some music and you can listen to twenty different songs and i can almost guarantee you that the majority of those songs will be ones complaining about something.Now i don't know about you,but i would much rather listen to a stoners hallucinations than somebody else complain about how bad their life is.

It pisses me off sometimes when you give a new band a chance and you like their first album,but then it takes them three or four years to come out with new material.Certain bands could've been in my top ten (which everyone knows makes all the difference to new artists) but they took too damn long and when they actually release the new album,its shit.Absolute garbage.

But,there are points i could be wrong about.Once i said this,i don't think it came out quite right ofcourse,since in the end i was called a stoner.The point i made which was that comes out now always has the possibility of being shit,but classic rock can never get worse.Thats how i phrased it,and i got called a stoner.The way i meant to say it was that,we already know out of classic rock whats the good stuff,and with new rock,there is always that uncertainty that the next song could be shit.In most cases listening to classic rock radio you can almost guarantee that the next song is one that you will enjoy even just a little.

Personally,i think the future of rock rests on the shoulders of those my age who love classic rock,like me.And hopefully i might be able to make a difference in the path rock is taking with the band im in.I don't want to sound like some over confident teenager,but i think,that my generation of rockers might be able to bring about the new era of what will be considered classic rock in 50 years.Baby Boomers and whatever the hell generation i am,classic rock gods and the soon to be classic rock revolutionaries.

To Be Continued...

Rock Revisited Part Two,coming soon..

Rising Violence

In todays world,violence is a regular occurance.That doesn't really suprise me,but what does is that,most every year the world gets more violent,and each year more violent movies and video games come out.
It confuses the hell out of me,people go on and on about how we need to stop violence and then what do they do for entertainment?They go home and watch a violent movie,or play a violent video game.Contradicting much? You want to stop violence,but you want to watch violence,hmmmm...well heres a suggestion that makes about as much sense as all those people who advicate no violence campaigns watching/playing violent entertainment.Listen up here..number one: Grab a lawn chair.Number two: find a ghetto.Number three: sit back and watch things unfold for a few hours.

Now see how dumb that last bit sounded?Well thats how dumb all this is.Im not gonna try and act like i don't watch violent movies and enjoy them,and im not going to say that i don't want the violence to stop.But no matter, it all seems strange to me.We,as a society like our violence,as long as its not real.

Just yesterday i was in the video store,and i saw a game "Gun Club"...I was just kinda shocked by it.Like now they're not even trying to hide the fact its violence for the sake of violence,i mean what kind of a storyline would a game "Gun Club" have? N-O-N-E. I ofcourse have my share of violent video games,and theres nothing different about me playing those games from anyone else playing them.But i have a game that kinda suprised me, "Scarface",is one of the most violent movies of all time if not the most.So you would figure a video game of it would be so much more since you can walk around and do whatever you like.But its not,you cannot kill inocent pedestrians,you may only kill people trying to kill you.Now i mean its still a violent video game but atleast its not one of those games for fucked up physcopaths who just wanna murder people.

Its a contreversial issue,and one that most are divided on.We want peace,but then we go back to movies and games and you can find yourself screaming at the screen "Shoot those motherfuckers!shoot'em shoot'em shoot'em!"
Then again this is nothing new,but ofcourse,its an ongoing issue.
Thanks for reading,good morning,and in case i don't see you,good afternoon good evening and good night.

What The Fuck..

Simply as the title put it,what the fuck? I have the urge once again,the bull shit urge, to write when i know damn well that i have jack shit to write about.Everytime i come on to my blog,i am basically saying what the fuck,why am i here?
Although i do know why,basically as stated in "Interesting and Sophisticated Refusing to be Celebrated" i have that feeling that i am on the verge of writing something great.But today i made a breakthrough on that front,before i started ranting about different shit i was talking about basically what i was up to.But that was in the summer..wait a minute..i was doing fuck all in the summer.Christ, i spent what like five weeks complaining about how much i wanted to see clerks II.

Then, as i mentioned before,i took up trashing shit i think is dumb,fucked up,or could be better.So after that little phase of complaining about what i wanted to see,i,not to sound pretenious,re-invented what i was about and started that bitching about other shit besides my own existence.

Now,ofcourse i feel maybe,just maybe, i have become bored with what i've been doing since september 06 atleast.So now i have to find a new,i don't know if i want to put it as an angle.But i need to find something worth while enough to spend my blogging time writing.

It is apparently,more difficult than the last time to find somethin that i can consistantly write about atleast as much as i have with my last set of blogs.Its pissing me off,and frankly justifys the title of this current blog.
Currently i've thought "Hey,what if i ask you guys what you think would work for me?".Minutes after that idea,i thought(again) what the fuck?Well not that i don't respect your three opinions,but that won't work for me cause im writing for well two reasons.One:Because i want to,and two: because maybe you guys like hearing whats on my mind.

Well im done,this is basically a warning,if you're lookin for my most interesting and intelligent shit,you might be in for a little bit of a wait.Unfortunate,but it will have to do for now until i find whatever i need to find to return to my best writing.

Thank you for reading,and good evening.
